# Creating and changing posts with the API: 1Post docs

The request shape for POST /v1/posts: text and parts, accounts with per-account overrides, first comments, timing and what the reply holds.

POST /v1/posts takes accounts and either text or parts. Each account can be an id or an object with its own text, settings, first comment, time and link placement. Without schedule_at, publish_now or use_next_free_slot the post is saved and not sent. The reply lists the post and each destination.

## The body

- accounts: 1 to 100 ids or objects. An object can carry its own parts, settings, first_comment, scheduled_at and link_placement.
- text or parts: parts is 1 to 100 items, each with text, up to 20 media ids and an optional delay in minutes.
- schedule_at, publish_now or use_next_free_slot: pick how it goes out.

## Changing it

PATCH /v1/posts/{id} changes only what you send. parts replaces the text and media; accounts patches destinations or adds them; remove_accounts drops some. A post that has already gone out can only be moved.

Send an [Idempotency-Key](https://get1post.com/docs/api-idempotency.md) with every create.

## Questions

**How do I post different text to two networks?**

Give each account an object with its own parts, or patch a destination by account_id after creating the post.
