# The MCP server: 1Post docs

Connect an assistant to 1Post over MCP: free tools with no key, every tool with a key or OAuth, and confirmation for actions that publish.

The MCP server at /v1/mcp offers the free tools with no credential and every tool with a key. An assistant lists accounts, writes and schedules posts and reads results, with the permissions of the member who connected it. Tools that cancel or reply need confirm: true.

## Connect

- With a key: send it to /v1/mcp as a bearer token.
- With OAuth: connect to /v1/mcp/oauth and sign in; see [MCP authentication](https://get1post.com/docs/mcp-oauth.md).
- With nothing: call the free tools only.

## What the assistant can and cannot do

It acts with the role of the member behind the grant, so a contributor's posts still go to review. Approving needs the owner's approval switch. 1Post never writes for the assistant: it publishes what the assistant sends.

Setup pages for each assistant client are under [assistants](https://get1post.com/assistants.md), and posting examples for each network are under [developers](https://get1post.com/developers.md).

## Questions

**Is MCP included in every plan?**

Yes. The API, the MCP server and webhooks are on every plan.
