# Notifications and the audit trail: 1Post docs

The notification centre and per-kind email settings, and the audit trail that records who or what changed your workspace.

The notification centre lists what needs you, newest first, and each kind of email can be switched on or off. The audit trail records what was done in the workspace and by whom: a member, a key, an MCP client or a rule. Admins read it with GET /v1/audit.

- GET /v1/notifications lists notices for the member the key acts as; POST /v1/notifications/read marks some or all as read.
- POST /v1/notifications/preferences turns the email for one kind of notice on or off.
- GET /v1/audit reads the trail and needs a role that manages the workspace.

## Questions

**Is automation visible in the audit trail?**

Yes. Entries say whether a member, a key, an MCP client or a rule did the action.
