# How to send a webhook when a post publishes

Add a webhook endpoint, choose the events and networks it covers, send a test and verify the signature on each message.

In Settings open Webhooks, add your endpoint address, and choose the events and networks it should cover. Send a test message, then check the signature on each real one against your secret so you know it came from 1Post. Failures show in the developer log with the payload and response.

## Steps

1. Add the endpoint. In Settings, Webhooks, enter the address that will receive the messages.
2. Choose events and networks. Pick which events fire it, and limit it to chosen networks if you want.
3. Send a test. Use the test button and confirm your system receives it.
4. Verify the signature. Check each message's signature against your secret before you trust it.
5. Watch the log. The developer log shows each delivery with its payload and response.

## Good to know

- The number of endpoints depends on your plan.

## Questions

**Are webhooks signed?**

Yes, every message carries a signature.

**Can I send a post to my own URL?**

Yes. A webhook can also be a destination, which sends the post as signed JSON.
