# Schedule Slack posts: formats, limits, setup

Schedule and publish text to a channel to Slack with 1Post: what you can post, the limits, the daily cap and how to connect your channel.

1Post schedules and publishes text to a channel to Slack. Write once, tailor the Slack version with a live preview, and 1Post checks the post against Slack's rules before it goes out at the time you set. The text limit is 4,000 characters, counted by code points.

## Connect Slack

1. In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel.
2. Copy the webhook URL.
3. Open Accounts in 1Post and choose Connect, then Slack, and paste the URL.
4. Choose the channel in the composer.

## Before it goes out

The composer shows Slack's preview beside the others, counts the text the way Slack does, and lists anything the network would refuse, such as a file that is too large. Fix it in the composer and the post stays in your queue.
