# Free video spec checker for every social network

Pick a video file and see its length, size and shape tested against the rules of every network, with the reason for each one that would refuse it.

Pick a video and the checker reads its length, size, dimensions and type in your browser, then tests them against every network's published video rules. Each row says whether the network would take it and, if not, why. The file is never uploaded, so you can check large videos freely.

## How it works

The browser reads the video's metadata, so the check is quick even for large files. Length and size are compared with each network's published limits; networks that take no video are marked as such.

Rules that need a deeper look, such as codec, frame rate or bitrate, are not tested here, because the browser does not read them reliably.

## Questions

**Does it check codec or frame rate?**

No. Browsers do not report them reliably, so the checker covers length, size, dimensions and file type, the rules a browser can read.

**Is my video uploaded?**

No. The browser reads the file's details locally and nothing leaves your computer.

**Which length limits does it apply?**

Each network's published video length and size range, for example Threads at up to 5 minutes.
