YouTube title, description and tag checker
Paste your title, description and tags to check them before you upload. 1Post checks titles at 100 characters and descriptions at 5,000, and YouTube documents the tag field at 500 characters in total, commas included. The checker shows each count and the room left, and flags any field that is over.

How it works
- 01
YouTube counts the tag field as one list: the commas between tags count, and a tag that contains a space counts as if it were wrapped in quotation marks, which adds two characters. The checker counts tags the same way, so its total matches the limit YouTube documents.
- 02
Titles and descriptions are counted by characters as you see them. The title and description figures are the limits 1Post checks before you upload.
- 03
Copy a link to the result, or open it in the composer with 1Post and schedule it to every network.
It runs in your browser. Nothing you type or choose is uploaded, and the page works without an account. To publish what you made, start a trial and open it in the composer.
Questions
How are tags counted?
YouTube allows 500 characters across the whole tag list. Commas between tags count, and a tag with a space counts two extra characters for the quotation marks YouTube adds. The checker applies both rules.
Where do the title and description limits come from?
1Post checks titles at 100 characters and descriptions at 5,000 so a video is not refused when it is posted. Text with emoji or other scripts can use more space than it looks like, so leave some room.
What happens to a title that is too long?
The post is refused at the limit 1Post checks, so shorten the title before you upload.
