Engagement rate calculator for social posts
Enter the likes, comments, shares and saves across your posts, how many posts they cover and the audience figure you measure against: followers, reach or impressions. The calculator adds the engagements, divides by the number of posts, then by the audience figure, and shows the result as a percentage.
Enter the totals across all the posts; the rate is worked out per post.

How it works
- 01
Engagement rate is engagements per post divided by an audience figure, times one hundred. Which figure you use changes the answer: followers shows how much of your audience responds, reach shows how much of the people who saw a post responded, and impressions counts every view.
- 02
Use the same figure every time you compare posts or weeks, and take the numbers from the network's own insights for the same dates. The calculator does the arithmetic only; it does not compare you with other accounts.
- 03
Copy a link to the result, or open it in the composer with 1Post and schedule it to every network.
It runs in your browser. Nothing you type or choose is uploaded, and the page works without an account. To publish what you made, start a trial and open it in the composer.
Questions
Which engagements should I count?
Count the actions the network reports for the post: likes, comments, shares or reposts and saves. Leave out profile visits and link clicks unless you want them in your own definition and use it every time.
Should I measure against followers or reach?
Followers answers how many of your audience respond. Reach answers how many of the people who saw the post responded. Pick one and keep it for every comparison.
Why do I enter totals and a post count?
Averaging over several posts smooths out one unusually good or bad post. Enter the totals across the posts and how many posts they cover.
