How-to guide

How to schedule an X thread

Open the composer, paste your full text, pick X, and turn on the thread view. 1Post splits it into parts that each fit X's 280 weighted characters, breaking at spaces, with optional numbering. Choose a time or the next free slot and schedule. The whole chain goes out as one thread.

Steps

  1. 01

    Write the whole text

Open Compose and paste or type everything you want to say in the main box.

  2. 02

    Pick X

Choose your X account. The X tab shows how X counts the text: a link counts 23 and an emoji 2.

  3. 03

    Split into parts

Turn on thread view. The text divides at the last space that fits each part; turn on numbering to add 1/5 style counters.

  4. 04

    Adjust the cuts

Edit any part directly if a cut falls in an awkward place. Each part shows its count against the limit.

  5. 05

    Schedule

Pick a date and time, or add the thread to the queue to take the next free slot.

Good to know

  • A link in any part counts 23 on X, however long it is.
  • To keep a link out of the thread text, move it to the first comment.

Questions

Can each part have its own image?

Yes. Attach images or one video to any part, within X's media rules.

Does numbering use characters?

Yes. The splitter keeps room at the end of each part for the number.
