Scheduling

Slots and the queue

A slot is a weekly time in your workspace time zone, optionally for certain accounts. A post sent with use_next_free_slot takes the next slot with room. You can add, change or delete slots, and deleting a slot can move its posts to the next free one. POST /v1/slots/next shows the next free slot without booking it.

Set a rhythm

  1. 01

Add a slot with a weekday (0 to 6) and a minute of the day (0 to 1439).

  2. 02

Limit it to some accounts if different accounts post at different times.

  3. 03

Send posts with use_next_free_slot and they fill the slots in order.

A slot that a future post uses cannot be changed; delete it and choose where its posts move. The weekly posting schedule guide walks through a rhythm.

Questions

Does asking for the next free slot book it?

No. POST /v1/slots/next only shows it. Nothing is booked until you create the post.
