Carousel: what it means

A carousel is one post that holds several images or videos a viewer swipes through. Instagram, TikTok, Threads and Pinterest take them, each with its own item count and shape rules. LinkedIn carousels are usually a PDF document whose pages are the slides.

A carousel counts as a single post against most daily limits, which makes it a good way to share a sequence of steps.

Instagram crops every item to the shape of the first, so choose that shape first.

Questions

How many items can a carousel have?

It depends on the network: Telegram albums take 2 to 10, Threads and Instagram allow more. The specs page for each network lists the count 1Post checks.
