First comment: what it means

A first comment is a comment the account posts under its own post right after publishing. People use it to hold hashtags, a link or extra detail so the caption stays clean. On networks that take replies, 1Post can post it with the post or after a delay you choose.

Updated 2026-10-23

Putting a link in the first comment keeps it out of the main text, which matters on networks that count or price links differently.

In 1Post the first comment has its own box in the composer and its own length check for each network that supports it.
