Hashtag: what it means

A hashtag is a word or phrase after a hash sign that turns into a link to other posts using it. Networks use them to group topics for search. Letters, numbers and underscores work; spaces and punctuation end the tag. How many help depends on the network, so test rather than assume.

Pick tags that describe the post. A tag that does not fit brings the wrong readers.

You can paste a finished post into the hashtag finder to count its tags.
