How-to guide

How to schedule social media posts on every network

To schedule social media posts, connect your accounts, write the post once, adjust the version for each network, then choose a time, the next free slot in your weekly queue, or a repeat. 1Post checks each version against its network's rules and keeps everything on one calendar where you can drag a post to move it.

Steps

  1. 01

    Connect your accounts

Open the accounts screen, pick a network and sign in on its own page. 1Post posts to 24 networks, so connect every one you post to.

  2. 02

    Write the post once

Write the text in the composer and add images or video. Pick the accounts it should go to.

  3. 03

    Tailor each network

Each network gets its own live preview with its limit drawn into the text. Change the words for one network without touching the others.

  4. 04

    Choose when it goes out

Pick a date and time, take the next free slot in your weekly queue, set the post to repeat, or load many posts from a CSV file.

  5. 05

    Fix what the check finds

Before anything is queued, 1Post tells you which network would refuse the post and why, such as text over the limit or a file that is too large.

  6. 06

    Schedule and follow it

Schedule the post. It appears on the calendar in month, week, day and list views, and you can drag it to another day.

Four ways to choose a time

MethodHow it worksBest for
A set timePick the date and time for the post. The time is read in your workspace time zone.Launches and anything tied to a moment
The weekly queueAdd weekly slots such as Tuesday at 9:00. A post added to the queue takes the next free slot.A steady rhythm without choosing every time
A repeatRepeat a post from every day to every month, with versions that rotate where a network refuses identical repeats.Evergreen posts
A CSV fileImport up to 500 posts in one file, each checked against its network before anything is queued.A month of posts laid out in a spreadsheet

Every method is covered step by step in the guides. To set weekly slots, see how to set a weekly posting schedule; to plan in a spreadsheet, see the content calendar template.

Each network counts text its own way; the character counter applies the same rules, and the specs pages list every media and text rule.

Mistakes that cost a post

  • Sending one text to every network. Limits, link handling and tone differ, so check each preview.
  • Scheduling at a time that has passed in your time zone. The workspace time zone decides.
  • Queueing more posts for one account than its daily cap allows. The check names the day that is full.
  • Leaving a failed post unseen. Failures show on the calendar and in notifications.

Questions

Can I schedule one post to several networks at once?

Yes. Write the post once, pick the accounts, and adjust the version for each network in its preview. Each network gets its own text, media and time if you want them to differ.

How far ahead can I schedule?

Each plan sets how far ahead and how many posts you can queue; the limits are on the pricing page.

What if a network refuses a post?

The check runs before the post is queued and names the rule it breaks. If a send still fails, the post shows the network's own error and a plain fix, and 1Post retries only when it knows the post did not go out.
